Life in Cape Coral is like no place else in the world. From the quality of life to the low crime rate to affordable waterfront. Cape Coral has it all.
Cape Coral boasts over 400 miles of canals tying together backyards, the Caloosahatchee River, lakes, canals, and of course, the Gulf of Mexico.
It is an amazing city, built out of the dreams of two brothers, Jack and Leonard Rosen, who had to bring in the world’s largest shipment of excavation equipment to help design this water wonderland. It is also a young city, the first house was built in 1958. Cape Coral is only about 33 percent developed with 100 square miles of city land, making it the second largest city by land mass in Florida.
The potential here is endless. As Cape Coral increasingly gets discovered, it is growing into quite an attractive and strategically located city.
We are not only in a great city, but are also surrounded by other great places such as Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel/Captiva, Pine Island, Boca Grande, the Caloosahatchee River, and the Gulf of Mexico.
Our newly expanded airport in Fort Myers offers many national and international flights and is only 20 minutes away. Another large expansion was just completed.
Florida Gulf Coast University is also new to our area, having opened just 7 years ago. Also just over the bridge, in Fort Myers, is Edison Community College, now being expanded to accommodate the area’s growth.
Cape Coral has a wonderful assortment of clubs to join, including the New Resident’s Club, The Cape Coral Art League and many others.
Our median age is 39 and the 25-44 year old age bracket is the largest growing segment of our population.
Cape Coral surpassed the magical 100,000 population mark in 2001 and is currently at around 159,000. We are ranked in the top 5 fastest growing cities in the nation. This has really helped put us on the map and many businesses and potential new residents are looking at the area more seriously.
